The North Andrew Cardinals baseball needed a jolt and may have gotten one in 2025 with 12 freshmen joining the team. With just 18 total players, the freshmen group will gain an abundance of experience this season.“This young group is learning what it’s like to face experienced high school baseball players,” said North Andrew coach Chris Russo.
Where I am from, Dodge City, Kan., being a neighbor meant more than just living across the street or next door or behind the alley of someone.Even in the rough neighborhood I lived in as a kid. Nowadays, it is easier to say "not my house, not my problem." Easier and to do so with pride.
Before you start snickering I am not referring to those. I’ll put it delicately, escaping bodily function noises that can embarrass us at solemn moments or that are the favourite party pieces of the obnoxious uncle at parties (everyone has a least one family member like that) who beguiles innocent children to “pull my finger.”Neither am I referencing those times when your internal/external voice becomes confused.

The Savannah Savages started the season with three-straight losses, all coming against Class 6 schools in the Steve Lael Leadoff Classic. The Savages then rattled off wins in three of four games, including two wins in the Excelsior Springs Tournament last weekend.“In our first seven games, we have played one class four team, and the others have been class five or six,” said Savannah coach Erich Bodenhausen.

Very few things will get an outdoor enthusiast as angry as being faced with someone’s litter, or trash if you will. We have all experienced it, walking on our favorite trails, visiting our favorite parks or other natural areas, and coming face-to-face with garbage.
