Townsend celebrates fifty-year banking career
Pamela Townsend, of HNB Bank in Savannah, celebrated her fiftieth year in banking on March 21.Family, friends, co-workers and customers honored the 78-year-old bank teller at a reception.“After my kids were in school, I started working at Farmers State Bank in Rosendale," Townsend recalled. Assessor battles for property owners
The Andrew County Assessor is in a battle with the Missouri State Tax Commission on the value of commercial and residential property within Andrew County."It's not fair to put a blanket tax increase on all the commercial and residential property in Andrew County," said Paul Garrison, the Andrew County Assessor.Traditionally, Andrew County has been in the 90-to-91% range of the State Tax Commission's recommended rate, which is legal, Garrison said.The State Tax Commission sent Garrison a memorandum of understanding, which Garrison has refused to sign.This memorandum will require Garrison to:1. Update the Vanguard Cost Manual to the newest cost data available.2.
Andrew County finally has a circuit clerk
For about 18 and a half months Andrew County has not had a Circuit Clerk.Now, 18 and a half months ago Tannah Buhman came to work in the Circuit Clerk's office. In due course, Andrew County's Central Republican Committee recommended to then-Governor Mike Parsons Buhman's appointment.
