Savages egg-cited for Easter, FCCLA hosts egg hunt

The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) held an Easter egg hunt for all the Savannah Savage students and staff from April 14 to April 17.Each participant had the opportunity to find one egg to win a coupon.The following places were where participants won coupons from: Cabana Grill, Cabin Coffee, Cheddar’s, Chili’s, Crumbl Cookie, Dairy Queen, El Rey Papi’s, Family Diner, Gambino’s, IHOP, Jersey Mike’s, KFC, McDonald’s, Panda Express, Pizza Hut, Savage Nutrition, Scooter’s, Sonic, Taco Bell, Tropical Smoothie and Wendy’s among more.The rewards ranged from gift cards to free, half-off and buy one, get one deals.We are thankful for FCCLA advisor Mrs. June Clark and seniors, Jailynn Keeton and Brooke McCartney for their hard work orchestrating this event..

Savannah FFA enjoys Ag Olympics; ready for state

Savannah FFA members gathered for their spring meeting where they took a break from competitions to enjoy some lighthearted fun with their Ag Olympics.Events like “Find the Bean in the Rice” and the “Race to Put on Official Dress” had members laughing while celebrating their shared passion for agriculture. Savannah FFA has had a busy and exciting spring, kicking off their annual Career Development Event (CDE) competition.

Gyū! It’s what’s for dinner

As I have said before, I am the cook in my household.I have been met with challenges despite my culinary prowess.I love my wife but she is a picky eater. Also, have you tried to feed a two-year-old anything but apple sauce pouches, hot dogs (my boy's favorite), fruit bars, or the classic chicken nugget? To be fair, my son does eat pretty well for a toddler but alas he is still what he is.A dish that all three of us agree on though is: Gyūdon."Gyū" translates to meat.

Savannah continues winning; not satisfied

After last week’s 9-5 loss to Chillicothe, the Savannah Savages rattled off three-straight wins. The Savages, now 6-5, will finish this week with Maryville and then Oak Grove at home on Thursday.While the Savages have won five of six games, head coach Erich Bodenhausen said he wants to see better from his players.“We’ve won four of five, but really haven't played to our potential,” said Bodenhausen.
