MoDOT issues weight allowance

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced an allowance for heavier-than-normal truckloads of rock, sand and gravel on Missouri highways for flood relief, levees and other public infrastructure flood repair. The waiver allows private and for-hire motor carriers to haul up to 10% more than their licensed weight on Missouri highways.The waiver will remain in effect through May 5, 2025.

Local agencies offer drug take-back opportunities

Area residents can safely dispose of unused and expired medications on Saturday, April 26 at two, one-day drug take-back locations within the Region D Recycling and Solid Waste Management District.The Buchanan County Sheriff and St. Joseph Police Departments, in cooperation with Youth Alliance Partners for Prevention, will offer a drug take-back event at East Hills Parking Lot near Sears from 10 a.m.
