Meeks criminal cases end with guilty plea to all charges

In 2024, two criminal cases involving six felony charges were filed against a 21-year-old Andrew County resident.Circuit Judge Dan Kellogg called the cases against Jesse Ryan Meeks for a possible plea hearing or trial setting on Monday, March 10.Meeks dressed in a blue suit stepped forward with his attorney Nathan Johnson, who is a past president of the Buchanan County Bar Association. Johnson informed the judge his client wished to plead guilty on all six felony counts.Kellogg carefully explained to Meeks his legal rights at this time.

North Andrew boys end season as district champions

The Cardinals final record of 16-14 won’t tell the full story of a team that went 5-2 down the stretch to win their first district championship since 2021.North Andrew head coach Wade Bryson certainly enjoyed the season.“This season was some of the most fun I've ever had coaching,” said Bryson. “The guys loved to play basketball, they loved to practice, and they were committed to getting better each and every day.

North Andrew best finish since 2019

The North Andrew Cardinals looked lost at times early in the season, leading to six losses in their first nine games. But the Cardinals turned it around under first-year head coach Audrey Elifrits, winning 15 games and their first district championship in six years.“My biggest takeaway from this season was not to give up, and I know it sounds cheesy but hear me out,” said Elifrits.
