Wrestling did great at districts and are sending seven people to state.They finished third in the team race, right behind Cameron and Odessa.There was a rollercoaster of emotions the whole tournament.At the end of the tournament, Savannah had three district champions: sophomore Kaiden Phillips at 165 lbs, junior Braylon Ellis at 190 lbs, and senior Cooper Burnsides at 215 lbs.Joining those three are four more qualifiers: sophomore Landon Smith at 106 lbs, sophomore Lawson Francis at 126 lbs, senior Creighton Cook at 132 lbs, and junior Deagen Pasley at 150 lbs.The state qualifiers are very excited to compete in Columbia, Mo. For two of them, it will be their last time competing.“Right now there are a lot of emotions going through my head but, I’m not trying to focus on it being my last time competing," said Cook.

House Bill 742, sponsored by Representative Ben Baker of Newton County, which prohibits state departments from spending money on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives was passed this week in the House of Representatives.This bill is in alignment with Governor Kehoe’s Executive Order 25-18, which was issued Feb. 18.“Missourians deserve a government that treats all individuals equally, without preferential treatment or discrimination based on immutable characteristics,” said Governor Kehoe.

Weighing the value of eggs amid high prices
