Savannah students attend Conference Fine Arts Day

This year's MEC Fine Arts Day on March 1 was hosted by Chillicothe High School."We had great representation by our Fine Arts Department as a total of 32 students participated across the three areas," said Mrs. Jennifer Prather, the instructor for the Savannah Band.Those 32 students were 16 members of the Savannah band, six people from the choir, and 10 artists."I loved participating in it, it was a very unique experience that I hope I can do in the future," said freshman band member Marissa Maddox.

Savage track stars ready to compete at home this season

The Savannah track season is kicking off soon and everyone is getting pumped.The high school team started their 2025 track season this week and has been working hard even with the crazy Missouri weather.The large crew is made up of many well-rounded athletes who excel in running, jumping and throwing. This year's seniors are Vivian Barton, Gage Bowland, Cooper Burnsides, Trystin Chadwick, Owen Dierenfeldt, Kaylea Farrell, Jaiden Martinez, Allie Moore, Nic O’Neal, Avery Pasley, Dayton Peek, Kenna Reynolds, and Sara Younkin."I am very excited for this track season with Coach Wiley coming in as our new coach," said Bowland.

Savages take fourth at state, Burnsides high school career ends

In a thrilling display of grit and determination, the Savannah Savage wrestling team clinched an impressive fourth place at the MSHSAA Boys Class 2 State Championship, proving their mettle on the mat. With only seven wrestlers representing the team, Savannah showcased exceptional talent and teamwork, with six of the seven savage wrestlers earning medals and two making it to the finals.

Trailer court discussed, street paving proposal given go ahead
