Savannah wrestling program could use help

Savannah wrestling is on the rise, and there has never been a more thrilling time to get involved and support the program.From the youth level to the high school mats, the local wrestling community is growing stronger each year, with passionate athletes, dedicated coaches, and a supportive fan base.However, to take the various wrestling programs to the next level, the Matside Savage Club, a fundraising coalition of Savannah High School (SHS) wrestling program parents, could use the community's help.The excitement begins with the Savannah Youth Wrestling program, which had an amazing turnout of 84 young wrestlers sign-up this year. These future champions are learning the fundamentals and building the foundation for a strong pipeline into the junior high and high school programs.

North Andrew Cardinals bring back experienced group

The North Andrew Cardinals have some experience in coaching changes as the girls basketball program begins the season with a new head coach for the third-straight year. New head coach Audrey Elifrits coached at DeKalb last season and brings expectations to program.“My expectations are to be very competitive this season, and with eight upperclassmen, we have the experience to do so,” Elifrits said.
