North Andrew gearing up for second half

The North Andrew Cardinals went 5-6 in the early part of the season with four of those losses coming over the final five games before the holiday break. The Cardinals start the second half of the season on with the Worth County Tigers and Pattonsburg Panthers.“Since the LeBlond Tournament our focus has shifted to taking time off and enjoying the Holiday Break,” said North Andrew coach Wade Bryson.

Missouri rallies to beat Iowa in TransPerfect Music City Bowl

A fourth-down stance with 1:03 to play and two fourth quarter 50-plus yard field goals by redshirt freshman Blake Craig ultimately sealed the TransPerfect Music City Bowl for No. 19 Missouri over Iowa on Monday afternoon.With the Tigers (10-3) trailing 24-21 with 10 minutes remaining in the final frame, Craig drilled consecutive field goals from 51- and 56-yards out to push MU in front, 27-24, with 4:36 left to play.

Cardinals find footing post tournament

The North Andrew Cardinals turned a 1-2 start into a three-game winning streak. After wins over Mound City and Stanberry, the Cardinals won their third-straight game Monday night against North Nodaway.“I felt like we were really able to find a rhythm this week on offense and defense,” North Andrew coach said Wade Bryson.

Savannah Savages with final matchup before break

The Savannah Savages girls’ team enters the week with a 3-3 record and one final matchup with Macon in the Holiday Hoops event at the Civic Arena Friday afternoon before a week off.The Savages have played well defensively this season, allowing more than 50 points just once. But Savannah has struggled to generate offense in its last three games, averaging just 31 points.After the holiday break, the Savages will come back for the Bishop LeBlond Holiday Tournament that begins Dec.
