State amends criminal complaint; only charging escape from custody

A 23-year-old Savannah, Mo. resident finds himself sitting in the Andrew County Jail in lieu of posting a $7,500 cash bond.Now, Brandon Ray Bascue has gotten a break from the Andrew County Prosecutor Monica Morrey.The original case filed against Bascue involved criminal misdemeanor charges of sexual misconduct and an escape from custody.Morrey filed an amended complaint on March 4.

School Board Approves $4.5 million agreement

The main business for the Savannah R-III School Board on Tuesday night, Nov.19, involved financial needs to complete all planned construction improvements.The Savannah R-III School District accepted an agreement offered by Raymond James for a lease purchase agreement with the Webster Bank, a commercial banking company based in Stamford, Conn., for a $4.5 million lease purchase transaction.In a volatile market, Raymond James sought a deal with 65 firms. Raymond James reported they were pleased to offer the district this deal with Webster because the interest rate offered and locked in at 4.47%.
